1st Round 1-2 April 2000 @ Innerleithen. Innerleithen is well known amongst competitors as one of the longest and toughest Downhills in the UK. Starting gently enough among the heather at the top of the hill, the course soon plunges downwards into the gloomy forest. A technical quarry section then runs into a dark tunnel of trees, heavily ripped with the tree roots that are characteristic of Innerleithen. It was a dreadful weekend cold and wet with the snow coming in at the hilltop. But there was some great racing and an even better atmosphere for the first round of the RAV4.
